The hydrographical network of the county measures a total length of 2150 km; Bistrita river is the most important one; Izvorul Muntelui lake is the most important water basin, with a surface of 33 km2. The urban area of the county is represented by 2 municipalities (Piatra Neamt and Roman), 2 cities (Bicaz and Roznov) and 78 communes with 360 villages.
