
Covering 23,500 km.2, the Region of Valencia combines its mostly Mediterranean landscapes with broad coastal plains, although it also has mountains above 1,000 metres in height; over 500 kilometres of coastline where you can enjoy the sea and the mild climate; a population of over 4 million inhabitants and a traditional culture with over 300 festival days a year; major tourist resorts along the coast, large cities with all kinds of services and quiet, inland towns.
The Region of Valencia comprises the provinces of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia. In promoting tourism, this takes shape as four major brands: Costa Blanca, Benidorm, Valencia Terra i Mar and Castellón Costa Azahar.
The Region of Valencia has a large number of leisure and cultural activities to choose from. It has a long history, forged over the centuries.
The mild climate can be felt all over Valencian territory, with variations between the coast and the interior. The sun shines nearly 3,000 hours a year and the sea temperature ranges between a minimum of 12ºC in winter and a maximum of 27ºC in summer.
The Region of Valencia has hundreds of kilometres of the finest beaches in Europe.The Blue Flag waves at around a hundred of the Region's beaches as a mark of sand and water quality, accessible for persons with motor disabilities, including all kinds of facilities and services.
The variety of the Region of Valencia's landscapes can be seen in its seventeen Natural Parks, spectacular protected areas that are home to unique species of flora and fauna.
Valencia's tourist destinations are the magnificent, open-air setting for a large number of facilities, where you can practise any sport and activity.
An excellent communication network gives easy access to the Region of Valencia and straightforward journeys all over the territory. For any further information, the Regional Government has provided over 100 tourist information offices for visitors.
