Favourable geographic position at the Romanian Western border - the EU entrance to the South-East of the continent
Special cultural-touristic potential due to cultural diversity (Arad-multiethnic, multiconfessional and polyglot city)
Antrophic landscapes of a great variety, historical and architectural monuments, archaeological sites, fortresses, castles and churches and monasteries
Natural landscapes diversity: the alternation of hills, plains, mountains and thermal ground water resources
Numerous accommodation places and services providing companies (banks, ATMs, gas-stations etc)

Region's Weaknesses

Some areas with undeveloped road infrastructure and old touristic fittings
Decreasing number of agro-touristic board and lodgings
Lack of leisure parks
Insufficient development of culture tourism within Arad City
Lack of qualified staff/personnel in any segment of the touristic field

Region's Opportunities

The development of trans-border cooperation in the field of tourism under the context of DKMT regional collaboration (DKMT - Euroregion Danube - Cris - Mures - Tisza)
The functioning of the structure enabling business and week-end tourism due to industrial areas close to Arad city and also the an exhibition pavilion of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Arad city
New-fangled touristic traditions
Organizing circuits for sportive hunting and fishing
Modern services of mailing and telecommunication
