Situated in the eastern - central part of Romania, close to Bucharest, Dambovita region has a divers natural view including plains, hills and mountains. The highest altitude is 2505 m- Omu Peak , the 3rd high in Romania. The main growth is the forest one with different species of flora and rare fauna composed by 19 natural reservation, some of them unique in the country and even in Europe. The landscapes are completed by the stone shapes like ' The Sphinx', ' The Old Ladies' and ' The Lonely Stones' , by the big number of caves and by other special phenomenon met in the mountain area.

From the 7 towns of the region, Targoviste is the most important historical and cultural centre of Romania ( by being the capital of the south region of Romania between 1396-1714). Here you can see very old historical and cultural sites. Pucioasa ( 20 km from Targoviste ) is a well known spa by it's mineral, bicarbonated and calcium waters, used for treating many diseases. Here in Pucioasa you can see the bath museum.

On the way to visit the beauties of this region, the tourist can stay in hotels, motels and inns which offer quality services for them.
