  • How would you define your region's tourism potential ?
    Those who are coming to our county are having in view the following possibilities: visiting national and historic monuments, taking part in religious festivals, specifically in pilgrimage, enjoying the services provided in rural tourism, pursuing outdoor activities like horse-riding, fishing, hunting, tracking and skiing, benefiting of health tourism, participating in business trips and in folk dance camps and cultural events.
  • Does the geographical and/or historical specificities of your region offer potential for certain forms of tourism?
    In Harghita county there are possibilities to practice the following forms of tourism: cultural and religious tourism, rural tourism, health tourism, ski tourism, gastronomy tourism, active and adventure tourism.
  • What does your region do about that?
  • What tourism infrastructures and facilities does your region offer?
    In Harghita county among the primary attractions that catch the interest of the tourists we can enumerate the Red (Killer Lake and the Bicaz gorges), the St. Ann Lake and Mohos turf-bog, Băile Tuşnad, Şumuleu Ciuc with its religious manifestations, the Harghita mountains, Corund, Praid, Lázár Castle from Lăzarea.
    Besides these primary attractions we can find a series of secondary elements which contribute to the enrichment of the tourist programmes to the creation of programme packages and the thematic routes. Unique attractions can be the Szekler architectural and historic monuments, the fortified churches, the handicrafts, the local culture and cuisine, natural rarities, curative waters (spas). In Harghita county’s territory there are 36 protected areas, national parks.
