Is there a role for AER?

Yes
In the field of tourism, AER may support the partner regions through:
- information about the tourism heritage of the regions;
- supply of a framework to identify project partners, partnership and project development among regions;
- stimulation of the exchange of experience and transfer of competences;
- dissemination of examples of good practices;
- supply of market studies and comparative statistics in the field.
Has your region EU support for tourism?

Yes
Iasi County Council participated as partner of the Hâncesti Raional County (Republic of Moldova) at the implementation of the project “Eco-rural tourism in the Forest of Lapusna”, financed by the European Commission through TACIS programme.
The project was developed from 2006 to 2007 and its main objective is the capitalization of the opportunities for cross-border cooperation in the fields of cultural exchanges, business development and tourism.
What should be the role of the EU in tourism policy?

– Encouraging the dialogue between all the categories of social actors involved in the development of sustainable tourism;
– A better coordination among the different EU policies which impact the tourism policy;
– A more efficient use of the European financial instruments that support the development of businesses, services and tourism infrastructure;
– Facilitation of the dissemination and implementation of the European Agenda 21 for Tourism (in process of being drawn up).
