How would you define your region's tourism potential ?
Iasi county holds a rich historic and cultural patrimony which includes historic buildings, palaces, castles and noble residencies. Iasi city, blessed with the remains of Saint Paraskeve and having over 40 churches and monasteries, is a recognised pilgrimage centre, with a Christian culture. Famous noble families have built important buildings from an architectural point of view, on their lands in Miclauseni, Ruginoasa, Mircesti. The fusion between the spirituality of the inhabitants and the charm of the landscape makes Iasi County an ideal destination for the traveller wishing to discover legends and myths, to experiment flavours and taste the traditional cuisine.

Yes, Iasi County represents an attractive area for tourist development, especially for the historic part, as well as the architecture and the religious heritage. The types of tourism available in Iasi are:
- Cultural tourism – related to the presence of historic monuments such as the Palace of Culture, the Royal Court, Cuza Museum, Racovita Museum, the Palace of Mihai Sturza, Vasile Roznovanu Palace, Ion Creanga Cottage, George Topârceanu Museum, the National Theatre Vasile Alecsandri, etc.).
- Religious tourism – The monasteries and churches in and around Iasi, some of them known country-wide, contribute to the development of religious tourism.
- Museum tourism – Iasi City is an important museum centre formed through the accumulation of a real thesaurus of objects with historic, artistic, ethnographic and literary value.
- Ethnographic tourism – related to the organisation of pottery fares "Cucuteni 5000", as well as folk festivals: "Winter Traditions”, „Trandafir de la Moldova”;
- Balneal-medical tourism in the area, but extended to the national level, due to the reputed quality of medicine in Iasi, through the balneology and recovery complex in Baile Nicolina and the Recovery Hospital; the promotion of the favourable atmosphere in the forest areas from Bârnova, for those hospitalised for longer periods of time in Bârnova Sanatorium, but also for those who leave town on week-ends;
- Sports tourism is popular in the hunting areas in the forests in southern Iasi; tourism is stimulated by the sports competitions around the lakes from Dobrovat to Aroneanu (lakes Dorobant and Aroneanu), aviation competitions from the Moldova Aeronautic Club, sports competitions in the arenas of the city etc.;
- Week-end tourism is the most popular for the inhabitants of the city, in an area close to it, at Bucium - Repedea, Stâna Poieni, Bârnova, Dumbrava, Ciric, Breazu etc. and in a remote area – Suceava Plain and Oriental Carpathians.
