The Tourist Information Centre is a common local initiative of the county public authority and the city hall of the county capital. It was established with their financial and creative effort and it is located in the centre of Tîrgu Mure_. Three people work at the Information Centre, two paid by the County Council and one by the City Hall. They offer general information about Mure_ County and specific information about possibilities of accommodation, dining, spending leisure time, transport, tourist agencies, health care, banking and finances, etc. They also provide maps of the county and the county capital and other informational materials for free. They are open from Tuesday to Friday, from 08:00 AM to 20:00 PM, on Saturday and Monday from 08.00 to 16.00. Yet, even when it is closed (on Sunday), tourists can get essential information they need from the site of the Information Centre: www.cjmures.ro/turism. The County Council and the Tîrgu Mure_ City Hall intend to extend the activity of the Information Centre in the following years by establishing information points throughout the county in every major town and in other places in Tîrgu Mure_.
