Rich historical heritage
Cultural important events organized in Piatra Neamt (the International Theatre Festival, Musical Holidays, International Folklore Festival)
Well developed agro-touristic boarding-houses especially in the mountain area

Region's Weaknesses

Access roads to the main touristic objectives are deteriorated and not modernized
Functional accomodations are few used and the medium duration of stay in the region is limited compared to the existing touristic potential, because of its diminished promotion and of the low level of housing infrastructure modernization.
Insufficient promotion of the County touristic areas and objectives
Insufficient funds for tourism development, poor local and external investments
Lack of complex information materials (maps, leaflets, touristic routes, road panels with the main touristic objectives, especially in the rural area)

Region's Opportunities

The natural landscape and the diversity of the touristic attractions represent real advantages to develop tourism in the region
Improve the accomodation facilities, improve the quality of the existent touristic services (training, high qualification personnel in this field)
Improve the road infrastructure – road access to the main touristic objectives, transport facilities
Better promotion of the touristic attractions of the county
Development of Tourist Information Centres
