  • 3. Presence of a network of road and rail ways which ensures a good degree of accessibility;
  • 4. Favorable geographical position with perspectives to attract tourists from the neighboring countries Hungary and Ukraine;
  • 5. High potential for a diverse tourism (balneary, cultural, religious, mountainous, rural, for hunting, for transit, for week-end, etc.)
  • 1. Bad transport facilities towards the touristic areas and objectives;
  • 2. Bad physical infrastructure and bad endowment;
  • 3. Lack of a sustained promotion of tourism;
  • 4. Lack of a centre for tourists’ information;
  • 5. Weak management in tourism.
  • 1. Qualification and promotion of the personnel from tourism;
  • 2. Development of some resorts of regional interest (e.g. Tasnad and Beltiug) with a balneary potential which, through some investments in infrastructure, will be able to become areas of national interest and development of some resorts (e.g. Luna Şes) where the mountain tourism can be practiced;
  • 3. Development of some specialised forms of tourism: viticultural (Beltiug), piscicultural (Odoreu, Medies);
  • 4. Thematical tourist circuits (e.g. the circuit of wooden churches);
  • 5. Creation of some Natural Parks (e.g. natural reservation from Tur).
  • Title of the project: “Development of tourist area Luna Ses-Borsa” Period (from start to finish): 2001-2007 Catch-words: Mountain tourism Participants in the projects: Satu Mare County Council and Negresti Oas Local Council & Maramures County Council and Borsa Local Council Short description: The aim of the project is the realization of infrastructure for the development of a resort for summer-winter (practicing winter sports, entertainment activities) in Negresti Oas area. The project is now being implemented; it started in 2004 and will be completed next year (2007). The project will have the following result: - modernization of road DC 7, accesses, parking lots - ski track, tele-chair - supply with electrical energy - water supply - sewerage and purifying station - salubrity base. Financial contribution: - Total amount of the project in Euros: 15,303,017.83 EURO - EU financing support in Euros: 5,000,000 EURO - Name of the EU programme: PHARE 2002, Social and Economic Cohesion - Your region financing support in Euros: 8,636,351.16 EURO local co-financing out of which 58,33% Satu Mare and 41,67% Maramures - Other contributions in Euros: 1,666,666.67 EURO - Names of these other organisations: Romanian Government Further remarks on the project: The project intends to put in value the natural potential of Luna Ses area which is situated in the picturesque Oas Land and, respectively, Borsa area, these being the most frequented areas for entertainment, for rest and for mountain tourism of local, county and regional interest.
